Lena Torvik DVM & OwnerDr. Lena Torvik was raised in Fernley, NV on a small farm that specialized in Dorper sheep, Boer goats and Romagnola cattle. It was there that her love for animals began, and she was always involved in anything to do with production animals.
Dr. Torvik wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age and never strayed from that dream. Throughout her high school and undergraduate years, she was always involved in anything agricultural or animal health. She graduated with honors from University of Nevada, Reno in 2011 and graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After 5 years of working in private practice Dr. Torvik decided to open her own mobile veterinary practice in June of 2020. She has a passion for equine reproduction and focuses predominantly on advanced reproductive techniques such as artificial insemination, semen collection and freezing, embryo collection and freezing, and embryo transfers. Outside of work Dr. Torvik enjoys spending time with her husband and her 2 young children. Together with her husband they operate a cattle ranch. In her spare time, you can find her competing or training her horses for reined cow horse events and barrel racing. |
